A Simple WaltzSo. It starts. And it starts like this. There is music playing. Piano music. It’s soft, sweet, melodic, and no one recognizes the tune. The view changes. It changes to the player. The player does not exist except for a pair of hands wearing cuffs and a gold ring on the right ring finger, which has been there for a while. The hands jump to and fro across the startling bright black and white keys, moving as though only cut from the person who once possessed them and then something possessed those hands to keep moving. Vampire-WatchingFlashing lights, loud music, and a swarm of moving bodies. Yes, that is what a club is made of. A pale man sat at one of the tables, off to the side of the dance floor, watching. He didn’t have a drink, he didn’t have any buddies with him, and he didn’t even have a coat for the rainy weather outside. That’s because he didn’t need them. This man was no ordinary one, you know – he was an undead. To be specific, a vampire. You’d think that he’d be in a crypt, maybe his coffin, or endlessly hunting the humans for their blood.
